AutoDesk Revit 2025 .NET 8 installation Prerequisite

Hello

One of our clients reported that AutoDesk Revit 2025 has been updated to use .NET 8 runtime. I attempted to add this as an installation prerequisite to the software but since its a global software, I cannot make that change. Can we please have a check to see if .NET 8 is not installed, it should be installed during the Revit installation?

Why not just deploy .NET 8 and order it before Revit?

I can get that prerequisite added, just need to know what the actual prereq is… x64? runtime? desktop runtime?

I am currently using Microsoft .NET Runtime 8.0 (Dotnet) (x64) from global software. I am only installing 64bit versions for Revit 2025 and haven’t heard of that causing an issue, but my sample size is fairly small (20-30 computers roughly).

In cases like this I usually duplicate the Revit install script as “My Software”, then add .net as a pre-req. I did the same with Dell Command Update to hard code the type of updates we wanted ran.
