It would be great if we can have a task that allows us to enter the extension ID and it deploys it to Chrome and Edge. I thought it existed but today i tried looking for it and didn’t have any luck under Software and Tasks
I think there’s a Deploy Chrome Extension task that should do what you’re wanting.
There doesn’t appear to be, as far as I can tell. However there are several chrome extension tasks for specific extensions. They seem to take an “extension id” parameter, and they are just saved with that parameter pre-populated. It would be easy enough to duplicate one of those tasks, remove the contents of the extension id, and make it a required parameter. This would make it, more or less, a “template task”.
that is what I did for Virtru, just duplicated from one of the already existing Global Maintenance tasks
